Mark Harris B.Sc.(Hons) established Harris Land & Development Services Ltd in late 2008 following a distinguished career in both the public and private sectors of the house building industry that has spanned some 26 years.
Mark commenced work in the construction and development industry at Family Care Housing Association in Newport, South Wales in 1985 after graduating from the University of Surrey. Mark worked at Family Care for some 13 years graduating from Development Officer to Development Manager. Family Care became Charter Housing Association and is now known as Fairlake, part of the Seren Group - one of the largest social housing organisations in Wales. Family Care owned and managed several hundred properties when Mark joined the company. By the time he left in 1998 the property portfolio consisted on nearly 4,000 dwellings.

Mark moved into the private sector in 1998 joining Barratt Homes as Land Manager for Wales. Mark acquired a significant number of residential development sites throughout the region including the mult-award winning "Sovereign Quay" development in Cardiff Bay.Whilst at Barratt Homes, Mark acquired over 30 sites that produced nearly 2,000 new dwellings.

After three years at Barratt, Mark was approached by private Welsh housebuilder, David McLean Homes, now known as Elan Homes, who appointed Mark as Land Director for the Southern Division office. Mark helped David McLean establish itself as a major housebuilding force in South Wales and the South West of England by buying a number of very good development sites for the company, most notably the "Millennium Quays" development at North Dock, Llanelli, a seafront development of some 250 apartments and houses. Whilst at David McLean Homes, Mark acquired 18 sites that produced over 1,000 dwellings. Mark was a member of the senior management team at David McLean Homes.

Mark was then approached by Persimmon Homes, then the largest housebuilder in the UK and was appointed as Land Director for Persimmon Homes Wales Ltd in January 2004. Whilst at Persimmon Mark was responsible for the acquisition of sites producing over 4,000 dwellings throughout South Wales. Amongst the sites Mark acquired for Persimmon were the residential development element of the new Ffos Las racecourse in Carmarthenshire comprising some 250 dwellings. Mark was a member of the management team of Persimmon Homes (Wales) Ltd.

Harris Land & Development Services was started in late 2008 when Mark recognised that despite the economic downturn there were a number of developers who were seeking good quality residential development sites. Harris Land & Development Services Ltd have identified and acquired a number of sites on behalf of various clients since their inception. Harris Land & Development Services Ltd has also assisted national house builders in disposing of residential development land.
The experience within Harris Land & Development Services Ltd has been gained at the very highest level in the housebuilding industry in Wales. This experience is now being utilised to identify and acquire residential development land on behalf of several house builders throughout the region. We can bring a great deal of experience and professionalism to your organisation in the site identification, acquisition and development process.

Harris Land & Development Services was incorporated as a limited company during January 2010 and is now operating as Harris Land & Development Services Ltd.
